Message from the Principal

Kaya Carramar Families
Here we are in our final 5 days of Term 3 – wow, where did that time go?
It was wonderful to see so many families, so many happy faces and hear so many wonderful comments as you engaged with your children and celebrated aspects of their 2025 learnings at our recent Parent Night – Learning Journeys. The care you share with your children on such occasions, demonstrates the pride that you have in their learning and in supporting them to be respectful and responsible members of our community.
Thankyou to all staff, for the many teaching and learning opportunities you provide for our students. The classrooms and displays all looked fantastic, and the different ways the students’ engaged parents and extended family members in their Learning Journeys were credit to both the students and our staff.

Our Student Ministers, with great support from Mr Huggins, are to be congratulated for the many events they provided during our week of R U OK activities. It was wonderful to see the children engaging in the various lunchtime tasks and it was especially lovely to see so many members of our school community pitching in to help out. The "cookie" line was amazing! Thank you to Simone and her team for assisting with the yellow prep!
R U OK? Week is such an important week on our school calendar with such an important message for everyone - adults and children alike! Spreading kindness, showing we care, and reminding each other that no one should have to face challenges alone. Feeling connected and valued is so important. We are hopeful that an R U OK? Culture will continue to strengthen and be present every day at Carramar.
Congratulations to all students who participated in our recent Interschool events. We are proud of your efforts. Thank you to our Phys Ed Team and supporting staff, for their roles in preparing and supporting our students on the day. I would also like to thank our parents and carers, who respectfully demonstrate their support of both our students and staff at such events. Modelling respectful behaviour to our children is very important.

We are very grateful of the time that our School Board members volunteer in their role of promoting the school in the community and providing governance. One of the roles of the School Board has is the regular review of existing policies and guidelines.
Please find attached at the end of the newsletter our revised Homework Guidelines, which have been endorsed by the Board.
Thank you for another excellent term, albeit busy, but full of engaging learning and exciting events.
Wishing everyone a safe and enjoyable holiday with some special down time with family and friends.
Term 4 resumes on Monday 13th October for teachers and Tuesday 14th October for students.

Well these weeks are flying by. What a busy few weeks. We would love to congratulate all of the students who represented their school at the Interschool Carnival last week. From our side of the field, Carramar Community shone through. Thank you to the bakers in our school. Our stall, protected from the elements by our Peter Parsons Rize Gazebo, was a huge hit and the sweet treats literally sold out. The amazing P&C legends ran the stall like clockwork.
Saturday 20th September saw the Carramar P&Cs Parents Paint and Sip event…. And boy, what an event we had. The talented and passionate Kelly Butler directed and assisted the artists and helped them to produce some incredible pieces of art. With tasty savoury boxes made by the P&C and delectable sweet boxes made by Butterdream Baking, we were a very satisfied bunch.
We are looking forward to celebrating Italian Day by serving up an Italian Feast. Pasta Bolognaise, Pasta Marinara or a Pasta and olive oil will be served to students. We are looking forward to seeing the students showing the Italian colours while we serve their lunch.
If you are able to, feel free to pop down to Bunnings Mindarie on the public holiday, Monday 29th to support your year 5 families. The famous Bunnings sausage sizzle will be served, along with a cake stall and Raffle. Come down between 8am-4pm.
