Issue 16 2025
Message from the Principal
Kaya Carramar Families
Our term has commenced very well, and our calendar reflects a busy few weeks ahead as we wrap up 2025. No doubt the remaining weeks of the year will fly by.

Having recently reviewed our School Wide Positive Behaviour Matrix with a particular focus on Respect, it is most pleasing to see students engaging respectfully in all aspects of learning, especially through our agreed Engagement Norms. The term has begun with a calm and settled tone across the school – thank you for your support in maintaining this.
In the main, students are demonstrating respect for each other and for all staff and adults throughout the school day. This augurs well for all students maintaining their Good Standing to participate in our inaugural Good Standing Reward afternoon kindly provided by our P & C.
Respect is a key aspect of our vision, for every student to become a positive, contributing member of our community. We know that strong relationships and supportive learning environments maximise student success. We value and appreciate the positive contribution of our parents as partners in your child/ren’s education and development. It is most pleasing to see so many parents assisting in classrooms. Our classrooms encourage the development of self-discipline where all members of our school community are respectful, responsible, safe and always learning. Thank you for your ongoing support

I look forward to welcoming our 2026 Kindergarten parents to the school community next week at our Kindergarten Information Session. The following week, our 2026 Kindergarten students will join us for their first Stay & Play session. Our Kindergarten, Pre-primary and Year 1 Transition Sessions, along with our whole school Step Up Morning, provide wonderful opportunities for new and current students to meet their peers, while also supporting new parents to connect and learn more about our school. Thank you to Ms Morgan and our Kindergarten, Pre-primary and Year 1 staff for coordinating these important events.

Thank you to all parents who have completed the Online Services Agreement and Third-Party Application permissions survey as sent out by Mr Walton last week. It is vital that everyone is aware of the safe use of digital technology within the school and adhering to the agreed expectations as outlined by the Department of Education.
We ask you to read through the Online Services Agreement with your child/ren and return a signed copy to the classroom teacher (attached below) and also complete the Third-Party Application Permission which can be accessed using the QR code below. Third-Party Application permissions allow students to use the software tools on iPads and desktop computers. To maintain your child's access to these, we require this survey to be completed ASAP – thank you.

As mentioned via Connect, we will begin planning for our 2026 class placements next week. If you wish to provide information about your child/ren that may assist with their placement, please do so in writing, addressed to me, by this Friday 24 October. Please note that we are unable to consider requests for specific teachers or composite classes. Thank you also for advising the school as soon as possible if your child/ren will not be returning next year.

Also, next week, Friday 31 October is World Teachers’ Day – an opportunity to recognise and celebrate the outstanding work of our teachers. We are fortunate to have such a dedicated and passionate team who work tirelessly to support, nurture and challenge every student. If you would like to write a message of thanks to our staff, please collect a template from the office and return it by Thursday 30 October. Our staff are very grateful for your continued support.

In closing, students and staff are looking forward to our annual Carramar’s Got Talent this Friday, showcasing the many creative talents within our school community. Congratulations to all students who have been shortlisted. If previous years are any indication, the audience will be well entertained! Thank you to Mrs Malinovic for coordinating this event and to all staff who have assisted with judging and shortlisting. Good luck to everyone involved – we know it will be a lot of fun. Keep an eye out for photos in our next newsletter.
Have a wonderful fortnight.

Art with Ms Butler
Well done to the Year Five Students who joined the Scarecrow Creation Club last term. These students met every Monday after school to make a Scarecrow and enter the Royal Show Scarecrow Competiton. The theme of the competition was wool and we named the scarecrow Baaarbara and made lots of wool animals. Thank you to the Parents and Grandparents who also helped with this project.

Last term our Year Five students were involved in a community art project which involved creating a mural to paint on the wall of the Carramar community building. The students worked with The City of Wanneroo and a local artist named Nick to create the mural. They had amazing ideas and together have created a wonderful mural.

Thankyou to all of the parents and community members who came along to the art exhibition during open night last term. The students were very proud to see some of their creative artworks on display and enjoyed sharing them with you.

Year 5 Fire Truck Incursion
Students from Year 5 Room 12, Year 5 Room 11, and Year 5/6 Room 13 were treated to a special visit from the Wanneroo Volunteer Bush Fire Brigade in the last week of Term 3.
During the incursion, students had the unique opportunity to get up close with a real fire truck, explore the interior, and see all the important equipment used in emergency situations. The highlight for many was getting to use the fire hose—a fun and memorable experience! Students also had the chance to speak with the firefighters, ask questions, and learn more about fire safety and the vital role volunteers play in our community.
A special thank you goes to the amazing volunteers from the Wanneroo Brigade for generously giving their time to educate and inspire our students. We’d also like to give a heartfelt thanks to Bonnie Rodman, our dedicated school chaplain and volunteer firefighter.
It was a fantastic afternoon full of learning, fun, and community spirit!

Sharing Successes
This weekend Archie's u11’s Carramar Shamrock Rovers soccer team took part in The Bunbury Cup, their first time attending, they played 6 games over the 2 days & made it through to the grand final & won it for their division! Bringing home the cup to Carramar. Archie as goalkeeper for his team conceded only 1 goal out of 6 games. Such an incredible achievement for him & his team.

A big Congratulations to our very own Chaplain Bonnie. She was nominated through the Wanneroo Junior Football Club for the "Further with Football" award, for the "Club Chaplaincy" Program which was started 2 years ago. This is the first time a Chaplain has received an award for a Chaplaincy program from WA Football. Bonnie and the WJFC President accepted the award on Friday 10th Oct at the 2025 Metro Junior Community Football Awards. With SportsCARE sports Chaplaincy only being 2 years old, this was so incredible.

P&C Chat
Term Four is off and Racing. The P&C finished Term 3 with and Italian Fiesta.
Thank you to the amazing crew who served up the delicious meals for staff and students. We heard from the students that we managed to make (and I quote) ….”the best pasta I have ever had”….Behind the scenes may have held moments of Chaos, Laughter and mess, but we got the job done.
Coming up Early Term 4:
- World Teachers Day- Oct 31st - Donations of Sweet and Savoury dishes to thank the amazing Staff at Carramar Primary School
- Grandparents Day
- DISCO - 14th November - Volunteers Needed
Looking forward to a fun filled term ahead.
