Message from the Principal

Kaya Carramar Families
We are well and truly into Djeran Season with beautiful sunny days and cooler nights. We’ve noticed lots of dew on the ground this week as the land begins the cooling process. Time to dig out the Carramar PS jackets and jumpers in readiness for the rain, which we hopefully will see very soon.
Congratulations to the Year 6 teachers and students on the terrific Fun Fair which took place last Friday. The Year 6 students were certainly very creative with their stalls this year and a great time was had by all.

This week students will be participating in the Constable Care program. These programs empower children to stand up for themselves and make safer decisions in difficult or emergency situations. The topics covered are K – 2 First Aid Heroes, Year 3 Weely Safe – Pedestrian, Bike and Road Safety and Year 4-6 Frenemies – Bullying, Communication and Empathy.
This week on Wednesday 21st May at 10:00am is National Simultaneous Story Time.
National Simultaneous Storytime (NSS) is held annually by the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA).
Every year a picture book, written and illustrated by an Australian author and illustrator, is read simultaneously in libraries, schools, pre-schools, family day cares, childcare centres, bookshops, family homes and many other places around the country.
Now in its 25th successful year, it is a colourful, vibrant, fun event that aims to promote the value of reading and literacy, using an Australian children's book that explores age-appropriate themes, and addresses key learning areas of the National Curriculum for Foundation to Year 6.
The story this year is “The Truck Cat” written by Deborah Frenkel and illustrated by Danny Snell.
Here is the link if you would like to read with your family after school tomorrow.

Science with S1- Year 2
This week, our S1 learners have been getting hands-on with science as they explored the exciting world of forces. Through an engaging investigation using toy cars, the children experimented with push and pull forces to see how they affect movement. They made predictions, tested their ideas, and discussed what they observed—all while developing important scientific thinking skills.

Literacy learning with S2- Year 2
S2 students engaging in our Literacy Based Unit vocabulary learning activity centred around the text 'Sunday Chutney'.

Year 2's S3 @ the Fun Fair
Our S3 students had a fantastic time at the fun fair hosted by our enthusiastic Year 6 students! The event was filled with exciting games, colourful stalls, and plenty of laughter. The Year 6 team did an excellent job planning and running the event. It was wonderful to see S3 fully engaged, trying out different games, winning small prizes, and enjoying the lively atmosphere.
